Short Stories

The Monogatari Series numerous "short stories" written primarily to complement the main narrative and provide extra context for specific events.

While two official compilation books have been released, many other short stories were published individually and never made it into these volumes. A prime example is the collection of short stories included in the special editions of the Bakemonogatari manga.

Thankfully, fans have created a compilation book also called Mijikanamonogatari, which collects almost every short story ever released. This volume includes the content of both official books, the manga short stories, and various individual releases.

Aside from those short stories, there are two additional crossover books. The first, titled called Tsukimonogatari (written as 月物語, meaning "Month Story"), features a crossover between Sangatsu no Lion's protagonist Kiriyama Rei and Hanekawa Tsubasa. It was released as a collaboration between Umino Chika (Sangatsu no Lion's author) and NisiOisiN.

The second book is Mazemonogatari (written as 混物語, meaning "Mixed Story"), a spin-off crossover compilation that features Araragi Koyomi interacting with the characters from NisiOisiN's other works.
